November 17, 2023 World Toilet Day World Absurdity Day *Both truly fitting for The End of this long strange journey It seems only fitting that this long strange journey which began in IL with a girl writing to her Governor, JB P, pointing out a lacking resource for victims of domestic violence and asking for help with same - that it would now, four years later, come full circle- to, THIS, my final letter to you, Governor Pritzker. I truly struggled with how to end this Memoir for, much like the Pandemic, my ongoing cumbersome challenges are not at all “over” - and I now realize it was always fated to be this way. I’m still housing insecure, still languishing in poverty and fully dependent upon the kindness of others to help me through my chronic financial crises. Because when your housing ALONE takes up 90% of your income, you are destined to never get ahead.
